Santa dons skates, takes to the ice in Hoffman Estates

More than 200 people, and one notable and jolly old elf, took to the ice Sunday during Skate with Santa at Triphahn Ice Arena in Hoffman Estates.

Families enjoyed an afternoon of open skating and the opportunity to take pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus as well as Frosty the Snowman.

“I never have gotten to skate with Santa before,” said Natalia Jelowicki, 5, of Bartlett. “I hope he gives us presents and goody bags.”

Cookies and hot chocolate were available for everyone to enjoy after spending the afternoon on the ice.
