Suspect charged in Mount Prospect robbery
A Hazel Crest man has been charged in Tuesday night's armed robbery at Sprint wireless store in Mount Prospect.
According to a news release from Mount Prospect police, Marvin L. Jones Jr., 25, of the 16000 block of Anthony Street, was arrested Friday.
Police said Jones and another man entered the Sprint store, 905 E. Rand Road, about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. One pointed a handgun at customers and a store employee and forced them into a backroom, according to the news release. The men ordered the employee to fill two bags with phones and tablet computers and then fled out the back door.
No one was injured during the robbery, police said.
Police are still searching for the second man, who was described as a black man, about 21 years old, wearing baggy clothing.
