Teen charged in Bartlett burglaries

Bartlett police announce Friday they charged a 16-year-old boy Nov. 27 with two counts of burglary related to crimes reported at two downtown businesses on Nov. 9. The first was to a hair salon in the 100 block of South Oak Avenue and the second was to a restaurant in the 200 block of South Main Street.

Just over two weeks later, a Bartlett police officer noticed a person matching the description of the suspect walking past the victimized hair salon. Following an investigation, police arrested and charged the boy.

Hanover Park police were contacted during the investigation and also charged the suspect with burglarizing a business in the 2000 block of Walnut Avenue on Nov. 9. The suspect was petitioned to Cook County Juvenile Court and later released to a parent.
