Might as well throw money into the trash

On Nov. 8, the Daily Herald business section reported that the IRS refunded $4 billion to identity thieves, including 655 tax refunds to a single address in Lithuania.

On Nov. 23 the business section reported that U.S. taxpayers lost $139 million on a government loan to electric carmaker Fisker Automotive Inc., after losing $528 million on the Obama administration’s green energy loan to solar panel maker Solyndra.

How discouraging it is, as I pay higher and higher taxes personally and from our small business, to read news like that. It’s quite a job keeping accurate records and paying all the different taxes. The wastefulness, poor judgment and carelessness of the government makes me feel as though I might as well throw my tax money into the trash. It would be a lot less work and have the same result.
