Gurnee police said she left a note indicating she was going for a bike ride but did not return. She was reported missing at 3:30 p.m. Monday by her husband, Michael Stroll.

Anne Stroll was last seen near her home by neighbors in the Merit Club subdivision south of routes 21 and 120. Authorities said she was known to ride her bike along the Des Plaines River Trail.

Autopsy results reveal she died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, which is consistent with the Lake County Sheriff's Office findings, officials said.
