Engagement joy quickly turned to sorrow

My husband, Donald Smith, served in the Honor Guard at JFK’s inauguration. On Nov, 21, 1963, we became engaged to be married. The very next day our president was assassinated. Our happiness quickly turned to grieving.

By the way, we will be married 50 years this May.
