GOP, Fox gleeful over health snafu

Republican politicians, pundits, conservative talk radio and Fox are ecstatic with the problems that have bugged the Affordable Care Act website. Fox spends almost half of its news and opinion shows gleefully talking about the problems with the start up of the ACA.

It is no secret that Republicans and its official news outlet (Fox) want the program to be a disaster, but they could at least make a small effort to hide their pleasure at seeing the program encounter problems as it attempts to sign up Americans who do not have health care coverage.

I guess Republicans would like to continue with the status quo that sees millions of Americans who cannot afford coverage or who simply prefer to let other people pay for their health care costs when they suffer a traumatic injury or illness.

Bills of $500 for a visit to an emergency room and $160 and more for a 15-minute office visit with a doctor are outrageous and clearly show that America has a broken health care system and lags fare behind other industrialized countries in delivering health care to all at a reasonable cost.
