Why one congressman voted ‘no’

Rep. Randy Hultgren voted Oct. 16 against a deal to end the governmental shutdown. The article stated that he had nothing to lose by doing so. Although his vote was not needed, Rep. Hultgren could have voted honorably to end the shutdown. Instead he voted symbolically against the solution in order to maintain his credibility with the extremists in the Republican Party. thereby demonstrating that rather than voting for what is right, a functioning government, he voted to make sure he gets re-elected by pandering to the Tea Party.

Randy Hultgren isn’t interested in governing, he is only interested in Randy Hultgren.
