Emergency response teams attending earthquake drill at O’Hare

The community emergency response teams for O’Hare International Airport and Des Plaines will combine efforts from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday to conduct a full-scale training exercise at the airport. The exercise will take place in the O’Hare Sky Chef Warehouse and involve the mobilization of community emergency response team personnel who will be evaluated on their response to an earthquake. They will be evaluated on light search and rescue, field medical operations and triage and pre-hospital transport. The Chicago Fire Department, Chicago Department of Aviation security officers and the Salvation Army will also on hand to support the exercise.
