While I respect every individual's right to run for any public office and, in fact, believe we as a country would benefit from a broader involvement by the everday citizen in our political process; I nonetheless am perplexed by Mr. Scott Lietzow's intentions to run for Republican Organization of Elk Grove Township Committeeman.
I have been active member of the township organization for decades and until very recently I know that Mr. Lietzow has not been a member of the organizaion, has never supported the organization in any campaign, has never participated in any organization event and has never even attended an organization meeting.
In short, Mr. Lietzow has had nothing to do with the organization he now wants to lead. He also appears to be trying to take credit for a gubenatiorial candidate forum that the Township Republicans host every election cycle.
I am deeply concerned that Mr. Lietzow's run for Elk Growe Township Republican Committeeman is more about himself than it is about the Township Organization or the party.
