Conservatives need daily newspaper

Conservatives need daily newspaper

I found your recent supplement, “The Newspaper Partnership,” worthwhile and provocative. I do agree that print journalism still has much to contribute to the community. However, my opinion reflects my prejudice since I developed my skills as a writer in print journalism.

The Daily Herald does a good job serving the agenda of the Democratic Party in DuPage and the neighboring counties. But, that is not enough. Conservatives need their own general circulation and daily newspaper. Why don’t we have one?

I have heard that newspapers do not make any money, that they are not worth the trouble. That answer has some validity. Both the Chicago Tribune and the Sun-Times are/were in bankruptcy. So were a lot of other newspapers around the country.

This tells me, Democrats lose money but win elections; Republicans make money but lose elections.
