District 62 students can enter Winter Card Design Contest

The School District 62 Community Relations Department invites all kindergarten through eighth-grade District 62 students to participate in a contest to design a winter greeting card for School District 62. The first-place winner’s design will appear on a card that will be sent during the holiday season and displayed on the district’s website.

The first-place winner will also be honored at the Monday, Nov. 18, school board meeting, where he/she will receive a deluxe first-place certificate. Students who have designed the top three entries including ties will also be honored by the school board. Winners will be notified by Friday, Nov. 1.

Entries must be no larger than 5 x 7 inches in size. Artwork should reflect a winter theme, which could include cardinals, birds, trees, nature, mittens, snowflakes, snowmen, animals etc. The design should be in color and must be able to be reproduced.

Entries should be placed in an envelope labeled “School District 62 Winter Greeting Card Design” and given to the student’s school office by Friday, Oct. 18. School District 62 is not responsible for damage, so students should keep copies of their work.

Students should include their name and school on the back of their submission. A completed parent/guardian release form must also accompany each entry.
