Operation Kidsafe coming to Rolling Meadows

Operation Kidsafe is coming to Rolling Meadows to hold a free, two-day child safety event. It will take place from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Country Financial, 4190 W. Euclid Ave., Rolling Meadows. Parents can get a record of their child’s digital fingerprints and a form ready to provide law enforcement in an emergency. Operation Kidsafe is flying in a specialized digital fingerprinting unit just like the FBI and Secret Service use. Parents will also get valuable tips to set up a family safety action plan. There will be food, balloon animals and prizes and surprises for kids. No database or records of children are maintained; the only record of the visit will go home with parents. All children 1 year and older and special needs adults are encouraged to attend. For more information, call (847) 963-8840.
