Bartlett man, 24, dies in motorcycle crash
A Bartlett man was killed after crashing his motorcycle into a tow truck on Wednesday, according to a news release.
Police said Manuel O. Duenez, 24, was riding a Suzuki motorcycle west on US Route 20/Lake Street near Old Lake Street around 10:10 a.m. when the accident occurred.
Duenez suffered serious injuries when he struck a flatbed tow truck that was attempting to make a U-turn from the westbound lanes of traffic to the eastbound lanes of US Route 20/Lake Street, according to police.
Duenez was transported to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Both directions of US Route 20/Lake Street were shut down from the exit ramp of Route 59 to North Bartlett Road for more than two hours while police investigated the crash.
Police said no charges or citations have been issued, pending a complete investigation.
