Branch pick-up resumes in Hoffman Estates

Free curbside tree branch pickup for residents covered by the village’s refuse collection contract will begin again in Hoffman Estates on Monday, Sept. 23. Public works crews will accept tree branches no longer than 8 inches in diameter or 10 feet in length; shrub trimmings and similar brush; and branches from willow trees if separated from other materials. They will not accept tree trunks, stumps or root balls; firewood; railroad ties; lumber or fence post; and grass clippings, leaves, sod, plants or yard waste. Residents are asked to neatly stack branches at curbside by 7 a.m. of the first date of pickup listed for their area. They should not be bundled or packaged in a container, or protruding into the street or sidewalk. Additionally, residents are welcome to pick up free wood chips with their own containers at the vehicle maintenance facility, 2405 Pembroke Ave., during daylight hours after 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and during daylight hours on weekends. For information, call (847) 490-6800.
