Huntley blood drive draws 71 donors

Submitted by Knights of Columbus Council 11666

On Aug. 10, 71 units of blood were donated at the quarterly blood drive sponsored by the St. Mary of Huntley Knights of Columbus Council 11666, in cooperation with LifeSource and the generous participation by parishioners of St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntley and other local residents.

As an expression of appreciation for donating, each donor received a $5 Walmart gift card. Thirty of the blood donors passed their gift card along to the St. Vincent de Paul Society to help local residents in need. Also, the snacks not consumed at the blood drive were donated to Lazarus House in St. Charles and the Tri-Com Central Dispatch Center in Geneva.

The next blood drive will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntley. Additional information can be obtained by calling (630) 584-1458.
