Dining events: Have dinner at Niche's farm

Niche's dinner on the farm

Niche takes dinner to the farm with its annual farm-grown dinner at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, at the restaurant's sustainable farm in Elburn. Chef Serena Perdue will pick the menu based on the freshest ingredients that day and prepare a three-course family-style dinner. $75 per person with an additional $25 for wine pairings. Includes tax and gratuity.

Wines and fondue

Lynfred Winery partners with the Melting Pot for four courses of fruit-inspired fondues paired with four fruitful wines starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28. The evening includes cranberry walnut cheddar cheese fondue; watermelon and feta salad; kiwi lime shrimp, lemon garlic chicken and honey orange duck; and raspberry dark chocolate fondue. Partnered wines include Lynfred's cranberry wine, rhubarb wine, mango wine and sparkling raspberry. $38 per person. Reservations recommended.

David's Bistro's cooking classes

Enjoy a cooking demo while filling your belly at David's Bistro's cooking class Wednesday, Aug. 28. The evening includes a three-course dinner prepared by chef David Maish, red and white wine to complement and a recipe to take home. This month's menu features a candied pecans and cranberry salad; scallops bistro-style with puff pastry; and banana creme brulee. $45 per person.
