Elgin man held on $900,000 bond following July crash
An Elgin man is being held on $900,000 bond for his role in a four-vehicle crash that left one person in critical condition last month, officials said.
Noe Aguilera, 22, was charged with felony aggravated reckless driving when he appeared in Cook County bond court on Sunday, according to jail records.
Aguilera was involved in a four-vehicle crash on July 21 near Summit Street and Shady Oaks Drive in Elgin. According to police following the crash, a 55-year-old woman was hospitalized in critical condition from the crash and eight other people were treated and released at the scene.
No one was originally cited in the crash, but Aguilera was arrested this weekend and appeared in bond court on Sunday.
According to media reports, prosecutors in bond court said Aguilera was driving at nearly 100 miles per hour.
Prosecutors said the woman who was critically injured in the crash remains hospitalized.
Aguilera will next appear in court in Rolling Meadows on Tuesday.
