‘Project Alice’ classes Saturday in Hoffman Estates

The Hoffman Estates Youth Commission offers two free sessions of the well-received “Project Alice” computer animation training class for children this Saturday, Aug. 10. The first session will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and the second session will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Classes are held at the village hall, 1900 Hassell Road. The class is for village residents ages 7 to 12 (beginner level). Registration is required as space is limited to 10 students per session. To reserve a spot, call (847) 781-2606, and indicate the class time your child is interested in. A parent or guardian is required to be present. Light refreshments will be served. Project Alice was created at Carnegie Mellon University to teach basic programming concepts to young children in a fun way. More information of Project Alice can be found at www.alice.org.
