Biblical naysayers miss the point

Congratulations to Colin Barr and others who cite objectionable verses to discredit the Bible. You have officially missed the forest for the trees.

You’ve buried your head in the sand when it comes to other issues too. You believe the vastness, beauty, and complexity of life and the universe came about devoid of any design.

There are around 15,000 members in Boeing’s engineers union. It takes this much intelligence to design a flying tube, yet you vehemently deny a designer of life and the universe.

You deny the truth about abortion. You cannot perceive the product of conception growing inside the womb is human and alive.

The latest prevailing scientific consensus is fetuses feel pain.

Four years before Rowe v. Wade, man walked on the moon. Forty-four years and over a billion worldwide abortions later, doctors are finally admitting fetuses feel pain, although they still can’t agree when. Shouldn’t we err on the side of caution in deciding when to destroy life?

You miss the point about marriage. The purpose, products of, psychologies, and physiologies of heterosexual and homosexual couplings are different. Only if there is no difference between a man and a woman, and they are indistinguishably interchangeable for one another, can heterosexual and homosexual pairings be the same. Whose father would you have preferred in place of your mother?

The natural purpose of marriage is procreation. Just because not all heterosexual marriages procreate doesn’t nullify the intended purpose of the institution. If the government wants to provide benefits to two people of the same sex living together, it can, but redefining the word and sacred institution is an overreach.

Don’t summarily dismiss a complete body of knowledge just because it didn’t originate in a laboratory, or just because you don’t understand or agree with every detail.
