A water sports challenge tournament is set for Saturday, Aug. 3, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Diamond Lake Beach, 1016 Diamond Lake Road, Mundelein. The MasterCraft Boats of Chicago Watermans Challenge is a chance for beginners to get out on the water and enjoy water sports, organizers say. Events include a paddleboard speed conquest and other contests using wakeboard, kneeboards and other gear, in which points are given for creativity and effort. The tournament is open to all competitors 18 years and older (there will be a men's and women's division). There will be a teen division, consisting of paddleboard and obstacle course races to determine winner. Kid's division will include a paddleboard race and a sand castle building competition. Registration fees are: $10 in the store at 1275 Ensell Road, Lake Zurich; $15 by phone; and $20 the day of the event. For information, call (847) 719-0331, or visit www.mcboc.com and www.facebook.com/Mastercraftboatsofchicago.
