• A resident of the 2S500 block of Heaton Drive near Batavia got a phone call at 7 a.m. Tuesday from a man who said he was from "Windows" and needed to check on a problem with the resident's computer, according to a sheriff report. The caller took control of the computer remotely and suggested the resident buy some computer software to fix it. The resident was noncommittal; the man said he would call back but didn't, the report said.
