Community Concert Band Performs Live at the Lake

The Des Plaines Park District Community Concert Band performed on July 18, at the Lake Park Memorial Pavilion, as part of the Live at the Lake free summer entertainment series. The band, a talented collection of over fifty local musicians, played selections from the their wide repertoire, under the direction of Lawrence J. Carle. The program opened with March for Des Plaines, followed by the Star Spangled Banner. The band also performed Bolero by Maurice Ravel, Fire of Eternal glory by Dimitri Shostakovich, The Circus Bee March by Henry Fillmore, and Can't Stop Loving You by Michael Jackson, featuring solo trumpeter, Doug Fox. The band will perform next on Sunday, August 4, at 3:00pm at the Lake Park Memorial Pavilion. Admission is free.

The next Live at the Lake concert will be the Chicago suburban band, dupage, on Thursday, July 25. Dupage plays a mix of classic and adult contemporary rock from the 1970's to today.
