Create flood of business in Wheaton

Create flood of business in Wheaton

If you have tried to get into Wheaton on North Main Street in recent weeks, you know that the city’s flood control project is well under way. Southbound lanes will be blocked for months and getting by going northbound isn’t super easy either.

While necessary to help with perennial flooding, the project has created a financial hardship on our North Main Street businesses.

Perhaps the temptation is great to just avoid North Main Street. However, I am writing to encourage our Wheaton area residents, particularly those of us who live in North Wheaton, to “flood” our local businesses during this time. Make it a point to stop in at the Smokehouse or get dinner once a week from Mi Casa. Some of these businesses like Hawthorne Cleaner have been serving our community for over 30 years.

Pray the project will finish ahead of schedule and in the meantime, help create a “flood of business” on North Main.
