But the Brew Fest is mindful that man does not live on beer alone. Come for the brats or barbecue, with featured selections from McGonigal's, Big Iron Horse BBQ, Ruth's Chris Steak House, and Gilbert's Craft Sausages.

The classic rock band Second Time Around will perform; there will be a bags tournament, 50/50 raffle and an early-admission VIP ticket.

All proceeds from the Barrington Brew Fest benefit the Barrington Area Council on Aging. BACOA is the primary organization in the Barrington area that assists seniors and caregivers as they deal with issues related to aging. It provides activities, resources and programs and services that keep seniors safe, healthy and independent.

Tickets are $40 in advance (available online until 5 p.m., July 12) and $50 at the gate. Includes beer samplings, tasting glass and Brew Fest T-shirt. Fest attendees receive 20 drink tickets at the gate. Each drink ticket can be exchanged for a 3-ounce sample. Additional samples are available for 50 cents per ticket; cash sales only.

Advance sales are guaranteed a shirt; there is a limited availability of shirts for gate sales. Those who order online will receive shirts at the gate. Tickets purchased in advance at McGonigal's Pub will receive shirt at purchase.

Are you the designated driver? A $20 designated driver ticket (at the gate only) gets you unlimited soft drinks, tasting glass and Brew Fest T-shirt.

New this year is VIP admission. For $80 (online sales only), you can enter Brew Fest at 2:30 p.m. and sample a selection of premium craft brews, along with assorted cheeses, breads and antipasto from Whole Foods Market -- Kildeer. Includes a tasting glass and T-shirt, along with a coupon for one of Brew Fest's food vendors.

Also available is the Brew Fest/Uncork Barrington combo ticket, for $75 (online sales only).
