• A vehicle was scratched in the 1100 block of East Wilson Street, it was reported to police at 12:41 p.m. Sunday.

• A Craftsman weed string trimmer was stolen between June 30 and Sunday in the 800 block of Norcross Drive, police said.

• A bicycle tire was slashed in the 700 block of North Van Buren Street, it was reported to police at 7:34 p.m. Sunday.

• Douglas Komes, 55, of the 200 block of Indiana Street, St. Charles, was charged with theft at 7:06 a.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of North Washington Street, according to a police report. He is accused of failing to pay a taxi fare.

• Terrance Darnell Purnell, 32, of the 14100 block of Renegade Court, Woodbridge, Va., was charged with battery at 6:48 p.m. Saturday at Batavia Pantry, 929 E. Wilson St., according to a police report. He is accused of hitting another Woodbridge, Va., resident in the back of the head.

• Someone stole a wallet out of the bed of a truck parked in a lot at Harold Hall Quarry Beach, 400 S. Water St., it was reported to police at 6:33 p.m. Friday. One of the victim's credit cards was then used to buy $82.53 worth of gasoline at a North Aurora station.

• Brett Bullock, 25, of the 800 block of Newberry, Batavia, was charged with possession of fireworks, at 11:42 p.m. Friday at his home, according to a police report.
