Immigration bill harmful to U.S.

The immigration bill has something wonderful for everybody except the American worker and our families. Some 33 million people will be given work permits in the next 10 years, with some cities passing laws for illegals to vote in municipal elections soon after passage of this bill. Employers with over 50 employees will love this because they can hire illegals and none of these illegals will be under Obamacare so the employers will not have to provide health care benefits or pay a $3,000 fine to the government every time one of their workers has to subscribe to Obamacare’s insurance exchange subsidies.

LaRaza and community organizations take the place of Homeland Security in assisting these illegals with any problems. The Democrats love it because they will have millions of voters who will vote Democrat. Illegal immigrants can sue the government for amnesty and U.S. taxpayers will be forced to pay legal fees incurred while illegals fight deportation.

The pro-amnesty lobbies can file lawsuits to stop enforcement measures. The secretary of Homeland Security can stop any building of the fence if she so desires.

Illinois has 550,000 illegal immigrants, 4 percent of our population. We have 9.6 percent unemployment. We do not have a labor shortage! This bill will give amnesty, increased welfare costs, raise taxes, raise unemployment and lower wages to people already struggling.

We do not need this immigration bill. This is like a slap in the face to we the people who voted for these politicians to represent us, not to give amnesty to people who crossed our borders illegally or overstayed their visas. Our lives depend on our calling our senators and representatives often at (866) 220-0044 and saying no amnesty. Secure our borders first!
