Teen killed in Gurnee crash

One teen died from injuries sufferd in a single-vehicle crash in Gurnee Monday night and three others were injured, police say.

A 2004 two-door Honda was traveling east on Route 120 from Hunt Club Road about 8:15 p.m. when, according to witness reports, the driver lost control and went into the center median, police said.

The vehicle appeared to have gone airborne and rolled over, coming to rest in the westbound lanes of traffic, said Gurnee Police Sgt. James Lange.

A teenage girl was ejected out the back window and pronounced dead on the scene, Lange said.

Another back-seat passenger was also ejected, and he was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries.

The two front-seat passengers were also taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center. They had nonlife-threatening injuries.

Gurnee police continue to investigate the crash.
