Real crime is failure to care for vets

I would like to take this moment to point out one of the true tragedies of this NSA spying fiasco. While thousands of veterans pass away every week, many without benefits they are owed due to the inability of the Veterans Affairs to implement a basic computer system to log and maintain the records of these brave vets, we seem to have no problem finding the money to build super computers to track phone calls and emails of the citizenry. All the while neglecting the needs of these brave men and women who fought for this country and gave all they had.

In the case of my father, it took 10 years for the V.A. to finally admit that he was disabled due to his brave service in Korea. The result of that was him finally getting his benefits paid, only to die four years later without enjoying any of them for any length of time. The way this country treats its veterans is a crime, and someone should be held accountable for the paces that these poor guys are put through to obtain their rightful benefits, many in the golden years of their lives, which should not have to be spent fighting yet another war — this time with the V.A.
