Riverfront Park concerts light up summer nights through Aug. 9

The village of Algonquin invites you to the Riverfront Park Summer Concert Series. Concerts are held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, June 27 to Aug. 8.

The concerts will be held at Riverfront Park, 201 N. Harrison St., but the July 25 concert will be held at Algonquin Lakes Park, 700 Lake Plumleigh Way, in conjunction with the Algonquin Founders’ Days festivities.

These free concerts are a way to enjoy the summer with your family and friends.

New for the summer 2013 concert series will be the Kona Shaved Ice Truck. This full service truck offers a variety of shaved ice flavors for everyone to enjoy. Parking is available on and around North Harrison Street.

On June 27, The Flat Cats will play Blues and swing music, followed on July 4 by HiFi Superstar, a 1980s-’90s cover band. On July 11, it will be country band Mandy Z. & Rural Route One, followed on July 18 by pop band Liberty’s Teeth.

On July 27, Pirates Over 40 will bring their Caribbean sound to Algonquin Lakes Park. On Aug 1, Peach’s Beach Party will perform their tropical rock tunes, followed on Aug. 8 by R-Gang playing Motown and R&B.
