Geneva parks seek input on master plan

What do you want out of your Geneva parks?

Residents’ input is sought for a new master plan for the Geneva Park District.

A workshop will be conducted from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Community Center, 710 Western Ave.

Consultants from Houseal Lavigne Associates will ask questions. The firm is helping the district make the plan.

The district last did a master plan in 2004. Out of that came the installation of a sprayground at Moore Park, and increasing soccer fields.

The district is paying $44,965 for the plan.

The district’s last community survey was released in June 2010. A Kansas company did a random sampling of 5,000 households and 1,007 surveys were completed.

For more information on next week’s community workshop, or to read excerpts from the survey, call (630)-232-4542 or visit genevparks.org.
