West Aurora Dist. 129 superintendent retiring next year
The superintendent of West Aurora School District 129 is retiring at the end of the 2014 school year, according to a board of education announcement on the district website.
Jim Rydland has indicated he plans to retire next June, according to the website. He has been superintendent of District 129 since July 2005.
“I have appreciated working on behalf of our students, staff and community for the past eight years,” Rydland said in a statement. “I look forward to my final year working collaboratively with you on our ongoing goal of improved student learning.”
Board President Neal Ormond said in a statement that the board was grateful for the early notice of Rydland’s retirement. He added that the board intends to include students, parents, staff and community members in the process of identifying Rydland’s replacement.
