Schaumburg, tollway to host open house for Elgin-O’Hare Western Access

The village of Schaumburg and Illinois Toll Highway Authority are sponsoring an Elgin-O’Hare Western Access (EOWA) Open House from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at the Schaumburg Regional Airport, 905 W. Irving Park Road.

The open house is intended to provide an opportunity to view up-to-date information on the project, including the construction beginning later this year. Tollway and project staff will be present to answer questions about the project, which includes widening the existing Elgin-O’Hare Expressway between Lake Street and I-290 from two to three lanes in each direction, the planned easterly extension between I-290 and O’Hare, and a new north-south toll road connecting the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway and the Tri-State Tollway west of O’Hare.
