The Lincolnshire Police Department is sponsoring a special luncheon seminar on "Scams, Fraud, and Identity Theft" on Thursday, June 20. It will be at 11:30 a.m. at Eddie Merlot's Restaurant, 185 N. Milwaukee Ave. Learn about the various types of scams perpetrated in communities, including mail, telephone, and Internet scams. Useful tips and information regarding how to avoid becoming a victim will be presented, as well as the resources available if you are victimized. Speakers will include representatives from the Lake County State's Attorney's Office, the Illinois attorney general's office, the U.S. Postal Service, and members of the Lincolnshire Police Department.
