Thortons an eyesore? Hindsight is 20/20

It seemed like not so long ago during campaign season that Thortons Gas Station was such a hot-button issue.

Thortons will kill small business, create more traffic, and the list goes on and on about why it was going to be the end of Fox Lake as we know it. I don’t know about you but I drove by Thortons the other day, and all I could say was, “Wow!”

What a job they did with the brick work in the front, and can you believe it an actual sidewalk?

Thortons looks more like a hub of economic and social action rather than the creature from the black lagoon. Can you only imagine what a hotel would have looked like overlooking the water at Nippersink Park? We will never know, but looking at Thortons, we can only envision what could have and should have been.

When the current administration cuts the red tape at the grand opening smiling from ear to ear, just remember the amount of trash talk that was done against the previous administration to get that gas station in this town. Hindsight is 20/20.
