Boomers belt 3 homers, beat Rascals

O'FALLON, Mo. — The Schaumburg Boomers collected 11 hits and set a franchise record with 8 for extra bases in a 10-8 road win over the River City Rascals on Tuesday night.

The Boomers (10-7) scored 4 runs in the first inning — including a 2-run homer from Steve McQuaill (3 RBI) his third of the season. Gerard Hall (3 hits, 3 RBI) and Frank Pfister (3 RBI) also hit homers.

Cody Griebling worked 523 innings to pick up the win, and Dexter Price pitched a perfect ninth to earn his first save.

The series continues tonight when the Boomers (10-7) send right-hander Joe Parsons (1-1, 8.62) against righty Tommy Mendoza (1-2, 5.17).
