LOVES PARK -- Schaumburg held off the host Rockford Aviators 9-8 on Tuesday, the Boomers' fifth straight win.

Rookie Seth Webster from Louisiana, who was signed Sunday, made his first professional start a winning one, He did not allow an earned run in 6 innings, scattering 3 hits.

The Boomers collected 15 hits, led by Jordan Dean with 3. Chad Mozingo had a homer and a 2-run double, Sean Mahley had a pair of RBI and Alexi Colon had an RBI single as the Boomers matched a franchise record with 6 doubles.

The Boomers (28-19) are a season-high nine games over .500. The series continues today at 7:05 p.m. with Boomers all-star right-hander Chris Phelan (3-0, 1.72) against righty Nick Anderson (2-4, 8.28).
