According to Tyco, the wireless radio transmission technology reduces the number of false alarms and ensures a higher degree of reliability during storm conditions than phone lines can deliver.

According to the Lombard Fire Marshal, Chuck Riforgiate, "We only wish to advise the businesses being contacted by Tyco that it is a legitimate proposal and, due to their business relationship with DU-COMM, the Tyco system is unique in that it offers direct communications to the fire department dispatch operators."
