Village of Lombard Fire Department Alerts Businesses of Wireless Radio Transmission Availability for Direct Connect Fire Alarms

LOMBARD, Illinois— The Lombard Fire Department would like to alert businesses of the availability of improved technology in regard to wireless radio transmission for direct connect fire alarms. The upgrade includes changing the current fire alarm communications equipment to radio technology.

Tyco Integrated Security recently sent out a letter to businesses explaining the new technology and the cost benefits to switching over to the new wireless system. The Tyco proposal offers a more economical and reliable system for business owners as they consider improvements to their fire alarm communications.

According to Tyco, the wireless radio transmission technology reduces the number of false alarms and ensures a higher degree of reliability during storm conditions than phone lines can deliver.

According to the Lombard Fire Marshal, Chuck Riforgiate, “We only wish to advise the businesses being contacted by Tyco that it is a legitimate proposal and, due to their business relationship with DU-COMM, the Tyco system is unique in that it offers direct communications to the fire department dispatch operators.”

Anyone with questions regarding this service is asked to contact Tyco directly at (773) 905-3857.
