Why tear up roads at the same time?

Why tear up roads at the same time?

I am writing in response to the article concerning “Road Projects Begin in West Dundee” and comments by Illinois Department of Transportation Spokeswoman Jae Miller.

The intersection of Route 72 and Randall Road has been torn up for more than one year and with no work being done during the winter. IDOT says this project has another six months of work.

The interchange at Route 47 and I-90 is being torn up and made into a four-way cloverleaf intersection.

Now IDOT is beginning to tear up the intersection of Routes 72 and 31 — despite not finishing either of the first two projects.

IDOT now has all three routes of access for the I-90 tollway simultaneously torn up. How are commuters supposed to access I-90 without enduring long, congested delays during morning and evening commutes? Miller saying to “get off at peak hours” is simply not possible for the thousands of people who have to get to their jobs at normal business times.

The lack of planning in IDOT is bewildering and their arrogant lack of consideration for the commuters and taxpayers in this state is galling.

I propose we change the name to IDIOT as this seems most appropriate for the idiots that are handling road construction planning in our area.
