Former Mayor Wilks joins Mt. Prospect Sister Cities Commission

Mount Prospect Mayor Arlene Juracek this week appointed her predecessor, former Mayor Irvana Wilks, to the village’s Sister Cities Commission for a term expiring in July 2014.

“I believe she will represent the village fairly and objectively and provide an important sense of continuity to our relationship with our sister city, Sevres, France,” Juracek said in announcing the appointment.

Wilks chose not to seek re-election this year after serving two terms as mayor. Those two terms capped a career in public service that included 14 years as a village trustee and five years on the Mount Prospect District Development and Redevelopment Commission.
