Kane County

• Daniel Dieter, 45, of the 400 block of Blackhawk Street, Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration of .08 or more, improper lane use and driving without lights when required after a traffic stop at 2 a.m. Saturday at South Randall Road and Gleneagle Drive near Geneva, according to a sheriff's report. Dieter failed field sobriety tests and a breath test, and registered a .14 BAC, the report said.


• A China set "worth thousands of dollars" was reported stolen from a home in the 7N300 block of Route 31 near South Elgin at 12:06 p.m. Saturday, according to a sheriff's report. The victim was having a dispute with a relative over a will, the report said.

• A window on a vehicle on the 0S500 block of Armstrong Lane near Geneva was broken by an errant golf ball between 1 and 1:15 p.m. Saturday, according to a sheriff's report. The victim was viewing a home for sale in the Mill Creek subdivision.

• A purse was stolen between 12:01 a.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday from a car on the 41W0-99 block of Foal Lane near Elburn, according to a sheriff's report.
