A 22-year-old Milwaukee woman who authorities say agreed to have sex with a Prospect Heights 14-year-old faces felony charges after she pepper sprayed him and stole a piggy bank containing cash and his iPad, authorities said.
Police arrested Dareka A. Brooks on charges of armed robbery.
Cook County Judge Jill Cerone Marisie set her bail at $10,000 Thursday in Rolling Meadows.
Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Katherine Levine said the boy used his iPad to contact Brooks, whose name and phone number he got from a website.
They made arrangements for Brooks to meet the boy at his home, where he would pay her for sex, prosecutors said.
After she arrived at his home, she pepper sprayed the boy and left, taking the iPad and bank, Levine said.
The teen contacted police, who located Brooks a short time later in Elk Grove Village with the items in her possession, authorities said.
If convicted, Brooks could face six to 30 years in prison. She next appears in court on May 31.
