A project to improve two intersections on Route 120 at Almond Road and at River Road in Gages Lake and Waukegan respectively was scheduled to be under way this week weather permitting, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. The work will require temporary lane closures during the daytime hours. Short-term lane closures are expected, with at least one lane of traffic open in each direction during construction. The tentative completion date is June 28. Peter Baker & Son, of Lake Bluff, is the prime contractor on the $496,700 project. Details on other state projects are available at http://www.dot.il.gov and traffic updates can be found at www.travelmidwest.com.
