Rolling Meadows mayor engaged

Rolling Meadows Mayor Tom Rooney recently revealed some happy news.

Rooney and Sue Daniels, of Elk Grove Village, have picked their wedding date: July 19, 2014.

The mayor said friends introduced him years ago to Daniels, who works for the American Mold Builders Association, based in Rolling Meadows.

Rooney, who teaches high school economics and has two grown sons, was widowed seven years ago.

“Sue originally had a hard time adjusting to the public side of my life, but we are very happy,” he said.
