Streamwood commission hosts environmental education day

The Streamwood Natural Resource Conservancy Commission is hosting an environmental event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, to celebrate Streamwood Environmental Education Day. Representatives from various groups will be on hand by the garage in the back of village hall, 301 E. Irving Park Road, to provide residents with information on gardening, water quality, native plantings, recycling and energy conservations. Hybrid vehicles from local car dealers will be on display and there will be a demonstration with popular birds of prey. Computers, cellphones, cables, keyboard, MP3 players and video game consoles can also be brought to the event between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to be recycled.
