Mount Prospect woman injured in shoplifting arrest

A Mount Prospect woman was seriously injured during a shoplifting arrest. Lois K. Armour, 64, of the 800 block of Butternut Lane, Mount Prospect, was confronted by a store security agent about 1:05 p.m. April 8 outside the Carson’s in Randhurst Village, Mount Prospect. According to reports, the agent startled her, she jumped backwards, lost her balance and fell. She hit her head on the sidewalk and broke a hip, reports said. She was admitted to Northwest Community Hospital for treatment. She was charged with retail theft; she reportedly took a pair of jeans and six-pack of socks valued at $79. Her court date is May 16.
