America's Wonderful Wilderness Exhibit

The Prospect Heights Public Library will host an Artist Reception on Wednesday, April 24 at 7:00 pm in honor of April Lobby Artists and local residents Michael Durmus and Dave Coughlin.

The exhibit of photography and mixed media entitled “America's Wonderful Wilderness”, will be on display through the end of April at the Library.

Michael Durmus, a Prospect Heights resident for most of his life, discovered photography as a means to document his passion for backpacking on remote trails into America's Wonderful Wilderness.

Dave Coughlin, an Arlington Heights resident, has been drawing and painting as a hobby since childhood, with a special passion for landscape and seaside scenes. Travels throughout our western states and along the New England seacoast since retirement in the late ‘90's has provided a lifetime of photo references for both watercolor and pastel paintings, but the search for yet one more beautiful sky, stream, mountain scene, desert or coastline subject never seems to end. Michael and Dave's friendship and collaboration began at the Gary Morava Center in Prospect Heights. A fortuitous meeting at the health club lead to Dave painting interpretations of Michael's photos. This exhibit is a result of that kinship developed through love of natures' beauty. Please join us for the reception on Wednesday, April 24 at 7:00 pm at the Prospect Heights Public Library, 12 North Elm Street. Light refreshments will be served. Please call the Library at 847-259-3500 x35 for further information.
