Incumbents, rookies embraced by voters

New leaders will change the face of Aptakisic-Tripp School District 102 following Tuesday’s election for four positions on the board.

With all 13 precincts reporting, newcomer Scott Linn, an attorney, clinched the most votes with 460.

He was followed by incumbents Lenny Ostach and board secretary Pelleg Graupe with 399 and 320 votes, respectively. Another newcomer, Jeremy Galfield, also won election with 370 votes.

The four beat out Zeba Sward, a teacher, who received 281 votes.

All vote tallies are unofficial.

The shift comes as two current district board members chose not to run for re-election — President Gary Friedlander and Joan Koriath. A new president will be chosen at the board’s reorganization meeting following the election.

The district includes a middle school, junior high and two elementary schools serving Buffalo Grove and Deerfield.
