Carrying on West Chicago’s vision

Carrying on West Chicago’s vision

I am writing on behalf of acting West Chicago Mayor Ruben Pineda. Mayor Pineda is running for election to serve as our mayor in Tuesday’s election. Mayor Pineda has earned our trust and deserves our support.

He has served our city with distinction as an alderman for the past 15 years. My husband, Mayor Michael Kwasman, thought highly enough of Alderman Pineda to select him as his Deputy Mayor to serve whenever he was not available.

Mayor Kwasman loved the city of West Chicago and its people. He had a vision for the city he loved so much. Unfortunately, his time here on earth was cut short suddenly last April and he was unable to see his vision fully implemented.

Ruben Pineda was appointed by the city council to fill the vacancy in the office of mayor following my husband’s death. The council knew, like Mayor Kwasman did, that Ruben Pineda has a passion for the city which he has lived in for the past 50 years.

I know Mayor Pineda will continue to keep our streets safe, our city finances in good order and continue the vision Mayor Kwasman has for our city. I urge all of my fellow West Chicagoans to join me in supporting Mayor Ruben Pineda.
