Slate is best for Lake Zurich

Residents can have a positive impact on the future of Lake Zurich by voting for all the UNITED Lake Zurich candidates.

These candidates: Suzanne Branding for mayor; Kathleen Johnson for clerk; and Helmut Gerlach, Todd Minden, Ildiko Schultz, and Debra Vander Weit for trustees comprise the only full slate on the April 9 ballot for Lake Zurich.

These individuals are engaged residents who are united in their desire to serve the community and have the diverse skills, expertise, and experience to address the issues facing Lake Zurich at this critical time.

As a village Trustee since 2009, I have worked closely with Suzanne and had many opportunities to observe her handling of a wide variety of village matters. I respect her skills — her balanced, reasoned approach to problem solving as well as her total commitment of time and energies to representing all of Lake Zurich. Her accomplishments include attracting new businesses and developments. Suzanne was the leading and driving force that resulted in electrical aggregation, saving money for all Lake Zurich residents and small businesses on their electric bills. She also broke the stalled negotiations with the CN railroad, increasing the sound mitigation payment from $900,000 to $1.96 million.

I know and have personally met all of the candidates running with Suzanne. They are truly an outstanding group of dedicated, professionally qualified and experienced individuals. They offer active leadership focused on fiscal responsibility, integrity, no hidden agendas, encouraging and attracting viable quality businesses, and realistic and responsible, quality development and encouraging quality development for all Lake Zurich.
